Hello PSHA Family!
Welcome to last chance weekend. This is such an exciting weekend for people to go out and cheer each other on and chase those elusive last times to complete or improve your averages.
As you look at those averages posted on-line. Be sure to give our Times Keeper Candice a big THANK YOU! And know the large amount of work that has gone into making this possible given all our challenges over the last 18 months.
With that, I want to remind everyone that as we close out the competition year and look for invitations to show up in the next week that we have a couple of Covid rules that will make things look and feel a little different – Big surprise!
- Remember that we froze all PSHA age groups to birth dates as of 8/1/2019. This means that we’ll see a few older members in lower age groups.
- Interstate froze the Junior ages as well, as long as that person was a member in the 2019-2020 season.
- This shouldn’t affect many, but it could. Please know this as you look at averages and you receive your invites.
Thank you all for your heart, spirit and understanding as we navigate our way out of these restrictions and into the exciting championship weeks ahead.
I can’t wait to see you all soon as we come together at State Finals!
State finals rides whether it’s hot or not so I hope you all are ready!
Our last state was a wet one! The sky broke open during flags and there was a massive downpour leaving everyone running for cover. Just proves that “anything can happen” is sometimes an understatement! I mean, just look at 2020…. Yikes.
2021 state finals will pick up where we left off in 2019, we will award championship buckles at the arena and the winner will get their photo taken. Awards 2nd-6th for Friday and Saturday will be handed out Saturday evening. Sundays awards 2nd -6th will be handed out before the awards ceremony on Sunday.
All around and Individual High point saddles will not be handed out at the show as leather and hardware has become a hard thing to come by and I didn’t get them ordered early enough to be awarded at State finals so we will award those at convention.
Please let me know if you will be interested in having a health certificate and coggins done at state for Interstate. We need to have a minimum of 30 horses signed up for the vet to come out.
Please keep a close eye on the website (the PSHA and Interstate sites) for more updates on State Finals and Interstate. Lesa Bland – firstname.lastname@example.org has graciously volunteered to be a contact if there are any members with questions.
If you want to reserve a golf cart for state finals I need to know ASAP. There are 4 available and we can get a better rate if we take them all. Please contact Shannon Fadden via text or email to reserve. DO NOT USE FB MESSENGER. email@example.com
Please don’t forget that we have awards fees in place this year. Your fees must be paid BEFORE you can ride at state. $25 per person or you can get a sponsorship for State Finals and pay nothing. Print Sponsorship form above.
Interstate is moving forward and gearing up for a great weekend at Brasada in Powell-Butte, Or. There is a new, minor change, the committee has decided that it’s time to have riders pay for their runs at Interstate like they do at any normal show. $5 a run fee will be starting this year. Also note that Camping and Stall prices will be different than in years past, we will be giving a more in depth update soon. Keep in mind that we are traveling across state lines and health certificates and coggins are required by state law. There may be a possibility of doing a group coggins and health at Sate Finals, please see the note above or check the PSHA fb page. We do need at least 30 horses signed up to make that happen.
Interstate riders will need health certificates and coggins to travel into Oregon. We can set up to have a vet at Appleatchee on Friday but we need at least 30 horses for him to come. Coggins will be $40/head and health certificates are $40 (families can all be on one health certificate) please let me know if you would be interested in this and I’ll get a list started!
