July 2026 Newsletter
Hello PSHA Family. It’s been a minute since I have been able to slow down and get a newsletter out. I am sorry about that. But here we are. It’s July and the season is Rocking and Rolling! Every year when the Fireworks start popping, I start thinking that it’s the start gun for the final race to State Finals.
Candice would remind you that NOW is the time to be looking at your averages and make sure things look correct. So, I am doing it for her right now!
As I was standing in the arena over the last few days, I heard one of our more “tenured” riders say, “A lot can change in the averages over the next couple weeks.” Let that serve as a reminder to keep riding and competing to the end! Last chance weekend is only 2 weeks away!
State Finals: Things are rounding into place. No better time than now to say THANK YOU to Melonie Parks for all her efforts to bring you the best state finals yet. Saddles, Buckles, awards, clothing and more are ordered, arranged and filling up our house. I have to say that I am really excited about the continued work she’s done on our saddles!
Also, a big thank you to all our sponsors for making sure the funding is there to make it all possible.
One more thing! It’s also time to start watching your email, Facebook, the website and our new WhatsApp group for all the announcements. We’ll be sharing information about State Finals and info for first timers and more soon. Also, there will be more google surveys and sheets popping up to make signing up, volunteering and more, easier and better than ever.
WhatsApp: Here is another brainchild from Melonie as we try to figure out the best way for our organization to stay up to speed and get information out timely and easily. Here is a link and a QR code that you may have seen on Facebook. Many have signed up, but there are many more of you that will appreciate it. We’ll look at how we update and grow this over the future months.
It’s important to remember that Facebook is not the official source of information. That is the website. This will become another fast way to get the best information.

Interstate: Interstate will be back in Vancouver at Clark County Fair Grounds. It’s time to rally the troops. Get those averages and start coming together as the team that we’ve shown to be the last couple years. So excited for another great competition. Also be on the lookout for Princess Sara Hart from Oregon. I know she has made a few shows and is working hard for Interstate. She’ll be looking for donations and auction items. Please reach out to her to find out more. If you need help connecting with her, don’t hesitate to reach out to me or a member of the Interstate committee.
This also includes interstate Golf. I’m finalizing details and will be putting out the call for players soon. Be sure to let me know if you want to play so I can make sure you’re on the list!
Convention: We’re dialing in convention, but we’ve run into a recent challenge as a venue canceled on us. Melonie and I are back to finding a location. May have to move back a couple weeks from the normal to make everything work.
It will get done soon! When it is, we’ll make sure to get the word out quickly.
Don’t forget that Rule Proposals and By-Law proposals will be due by September 10th.
